REGULAR MEETING OF THE CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP BOARD
December 5, 2022
Supervisor Smith called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

PREVIOUS MINUTES
Motion by Quakenbush, supported by VanderKolk, to approve meeting minutes of Nov. 7, 2022.
Motion carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Motion by Ash, supported by Quakenbush, to approve the treasurer’s report of Dec. 5, 2022, balance of $2,276,347.57 and overall balance of $3,142,382.99.

NEW BUSINESS
ZONING ADMINISTRATOR TIM BEBEE
Bebee gave the board an update. He stated that the tax parcel maps are done.
COMMISSION TERMS EXPIRING
Motion by Quakenbush, supported by VanderKolk, to appoint Brian Schantz and Matt Flegel to three-year terms on the Planning Commission, expiring Jan. 1, 2026.
Motion carried.
Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Quakenbush, to appoint Tom Armour, Beverly Cashen and Brian Schantz to three-year terms on the ZBA, expiring Jan. 1, 2026.
Motion carried.
Motion by Quakenbush, supported by VanderKolk, to renew Bob Gates to a two-year term on the Board of Review, expiring Jan. 1, 2025.
Motion carried.
Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Quakenbush, to extend the terms of Kurt Fisher and Linda Reid by one year, expiring Jan. 1, 2025.
Motion carried.
Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Quakenbush, to appoint Brian Smith to a three-year term on the ZBA, expiring Jan. 1, 2025.
Motion carried.
Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Ash, to appoint Gail Huber to a four-year term on the ZBA, expiring Nov. 19, 2024.
Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Quakenbush, to extend the term of Dave Clark to the Planning Commission to expire on Jan. 1, 2025.
Motion carried.
DRAIN AT LARGE
Last month the board approved a $33,000 Drain at Large budget amendment but it turned out that the amount due on the Drain at Large invoice was only $7341.52.
Motion by Ash, supported by VanderKolk, to undo the $33,000 Drain at Large budget amendment and amend the Drain at Large budget by $3500.

PAY THE BILLS
Motion by Ash, supported by VanderKolk, to pay the bills.

Supervisor Smith received a quote to upgrade the firehall’s electrical service. He will get a couple more quotes to bring back to the board.
It was Trustee Michelle Quakenbush’s last board meeting due to her resignation. Supervisor Smith thanked her for her many years of service.
